Art is a way of life for me. Everything is connected culturally, scientifically, and historically.  Highlighting these connections is part of my personal artwork but also my philosophy in teaching others.

I have always had a fascination with the idea of melding the sciences with the world of fine arts. Scientific illustration is one avenue that allows me to look at the world around and capture it artistically.

My artwork is primarily oil, pencil, pastel, and ink, capturing the natural world. However, the beauty of being an artist is the freedom to try new things. I am enjoying my current journey as a pastel artist capturing the likeness of animals and plants alike.

As a lifelong artist it is important to me to not only continue my personal artistic practice but to share this knowledge and the expertise that I have gained over the years. I value my work teaching art to children and helping them to see and create these connections early in life, seeing the world through different viewpoints and lens. These connections can help them as they go throughout life and encourage them to create space to connect artistically with the world and their community.
